Tuesday, March 13th was a busy day.
I had bible study in the morning (9:30am).
I was supposed to bring the snack and I remembered at 9:29am. Oops! Not how I planned to start the day.
We ate lunch with some of our mom/kid bible study friends.
We had a date night.
Best of all, prayers were answered.
James 5:16 “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”
We were studying James 5:13-18 this week and spent time praying together. We took turns sharing our requests and praying for one another.
I requested prayer for our adoption. It has been six months since we mailed our dossier and the waiting without hearing anything has been excruciating (especially for a type-A person like myself).
The group of women cried out on our behalf, lifting up our child, the mother, and the millions of orphans around the world.
I was a bawling, snot-faced mess as I listened to my dear friends praying for our baby. It really was some of the sweetest prayers I have ever heard and I will treasure those moments.
Well, after I wiped my nose and joined my friends for lunch we started discussing prayer and what happens if God does not answer. It was a genuine moment of women expressing their faith, doubts, and ultimate hope in God.
When I got home and got the kids settled for rest time I opened my email, planning to do some work. You can imagine my surprise when I saw a message from our case worker saying,
“Congratulations, your dossier paperwork has been approved!”
God answered my prayers and those of our many loved ones who have earnestly been lifting us up.
This is a miracle!
Our paperwork was approved AS IS, with no revision necessary. Many of the families that have gone before us have had to re-do portions. It is a huge blessing that we do not have to do that!
March 13th, a prayer was answered.
That is not all. Stay tuned for the rest of the story.
…to be continued.
